Brush Twice a Day

Foods high in calcium and phosphorus, like cheese, almonds, and leafy greens, help strengthen teeth. Stay Hydrated

Water also helps to dilute acids produced by bacteria in the mouth. Chew Sugar-Free Gum

Chewing sugar-free gum after meals can help increase saliva flow, which neutralizes acids and helps clean your teeth. Look for gum containing xylitol, a natural sweetener that reduces bacteria in the mouth. Chewing gum can also help satisfy the urge to snack between meals, promoting better oral health.

Replace Your Toothbrush Regularly

Change your toothbrush every three to four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed to ensure effective brushing. A worn toothbrush won’t clean your teeth properly and can harbor bacteria. Consider using an electric toothbrush, which can be more effective at removing plaque and reducing gingivitis compared to manual brushing.

Visit Your Dentist Regularly

Regular dental check-ups and professional cleanings are essential for detecting and preventing dental problems early. Your dentist can identify issues you might not notice, such as cavities, gum disease, and oral cancer. Schedule visits at least twice a year, or more frequently if recommended by your dentist, to maintain optimal oral health.
